Perry Rosebrock Obituary

Perry Michael Rosebrock, age 60, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, died on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Jefferson Medical Center following a brief battle with lung cancer. Born December 13, 1955 in Fort Meade, MD, Perry was the son of the late Joseph A. and Jane (Crouse) Rosebrock.

Perry is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Jane Rosebrock and Lauren Elizabeth Corbett, and granddaughter Lyric Corbett. In addition, Perry is survived by three brothers, Dennis Corun and wife Kay, Jeffrey Corun and wife Cheryl, Joseph Rosebrock, Jr. and wife Debbie, and one sister, Betty Jane Rosebrock and friend Wayne, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Perry was a 1974 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and at the time of his death he was employed as lab manager by Richard Crouse and Associates. Perry started working at RC&A in 1992 and prior to that time worked on several horse farms in central Maryland.

Perry loved animals of all types, especially horses, and was perhaps happiest when talking about Smoke Glacken, one of the thoroughbred horses that he bred. Perry was an excellent horseman, knowledgeable and experienced in breeding, breaking, raising, and sales prep, and Smoke was his greatest achievement. Smoke was a Maryland Champion as a two year old and three year old, and an Eclipse Award winner (National Champion) as a three year old.

Perry was loved by many and returned that love in many ways. Perry especially enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, including co-workers and former classmates. He had a great sense of humor, a mischievous grin, and an infectious laugh. He loved to joke around and with very little encouragement, could either provide advice or bring out the absurdity in just about any situation. Perry left this world with his sense of humor intact and all who knew him will miss him.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 2 pm at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, MD. Deacon Charles Barnhart of Keysville Lutheran Church will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations can be made to the University Healthcare Foundation (WVU Medicine), 2000 Foundation Way, Suite 2310, Martinsburg, WV 25401 in memory of Perry Rosebrock.
