Denis Lenane Obituary
Denis Lawrence Age 85, died surrounded by love on June 8, 2017. Son of Hugh and Roma Lenane (dec), Denis graduated from U of D Jesuit High School in 1950 and University of Detroit School of Engineering in 1954. In 1953, Denis married his high school sweetheart, Suzanne Mason (deceased,) and settled in Ferndale Michigan, where they built their family. Denis worked for 58 years for Ethyl Corporation and had 21 patents. As a fuel engineer, Denis travelled the world for business, working with heads of state to develop emission quality and standards. Denis also volunteered in the City of Ferndale both on the Zoning Board and Parole Board. Denis and Suzanne ran the local chapter of AAU swim clubs, and attended every diving and swimming meet of their children. Denis and his wife Suzanne attended many Ironman Races of their daughter Laura Sophiea, where they fell in love with and retired to the Big Island of Hawaii. Denis is survived by his daughters Kyle (Tim) Buelow, Laura Sophiea, Karen (Mike) Ostrowski, and Judith (Graham Wilson) Lenane, and his son Robert Lenane. Denis was beloved by his grandchildren, Katie (Scott) Jeffrey, Krissie (Eric) Royal, Karianne Sophiea, Nicholas Ostrowski, Alexandra (Chris) Budnik, Chris (Sara) Ostrowski, Brandon (Angela) Buelow, Andrew Buelow, Matthew (Camilla) Wilson, Allistar (Josie) Wilson, Denis (Kate) Lenane, Jacki (Dave) Westman, and Jordan Lenane. Denis is also survived by 14 wonderful great-grandchildren. Denis was preceded in death by his brothers, Patrick, Michael, Thomas, and David Lenane, he is survived by his loving sister Kathy (Mike) Doonan. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-7 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile) 248-549-0500. Funeral Mass Monday 10 a.m. at Holy Name Church, 630 Harmon at Woodland, Birmingham. Memorial tributes to the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy.
