Sally G. Edwards, 72, of Fremont died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at her home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1939, in Atkinson to Emil and Floretta (Heuton) Kotas. She was a 1957 graduate of Spencer High School in Spencer. She worked at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota in 1959. Sally moved to Fremont and married Donald "Skip" Edwards on June 11, 1961, in Spencer. Skip died on Aug. 30, 2011.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont. She led a ladies' Bible study in her home and did volunteer work at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. She enjoyed homemaking and taking care of her family as well as keeping a beautiful flower garden. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Sally is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Deanna Edwards of Omaha and Jon and Michelle Edwards of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Dave Lundquist of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Emil "Kip" and Wanda Kotas of Fremont; sister, Nancy Sturdevant of Blackwell, Okla.; six grandchildren, Brittney, Katelyn, Kylie, Luke, Lauren and Lily; and a great-grandchild, Landon.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rick Kotas.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont with the Revs. Tom Shaw and Elmer Murdoch officiating. Closed casket visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be given to Step Up To Life Ministry.
