GRACE MITSUKO YAMADA

Grace Mitsuko Yamada passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Sierra View Homes in Reedley, CA. She was born the first of three children to Yasu and Goichi Honjo in Armona, CA. During World War II, she was interned at Poston Colorado River Relocation Center. In 1946, she married her husband of 62 years, Akira "Doug" Yamada, and raised their family in Orosi, CA. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, especially flowers, and ikebana, flower arranging. She was a life member of the Dinuba Buddhist Church and the Fujinkai. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Sumi Okura; and her brother, Mori Honjo. She is survived by her children, Clara Clark of Morgan Hill, CA, Dennis Yamada of Dinuba, CA, Margie Davis and her husband Don of San Jose, CA, and Arthur Yamada and his wife Barbara of Branford, CT; six grandchildren, Joseph, Stephanie, Dennis Jr., Kelly, James, and Douglas; and eight great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held at Dopkins Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Dopkins Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Smith Mountain Cemetery on Monday, March 19, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Dopkins Funeral Chapel, 189 South 'J' Street, Dinuba, California (559)591-1919
