Stan Jizmejian, a lifelong Fresnan, son of Virginia and Mike Jizmejian, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2004, after a massive stroke. After graduation from Fresno High School during WWII, Stan served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return and after two years at Fresno State College, he and brother Al started a grocery business. Stan also organized a cooperative advertising group of over twenty stores and became involved with the Fair Trade Practices Act legislation at the state level. Stan was generous and kind to anyone who needed his help, even while caring for his aging mother at home. Roxie and Stan enjoyed family gatherings of both sides even before their marriage. Both were also involved in celebrating birthdays and holidays with "Le Group" (dear friends), whose love and concern have been a mainstay for the couple. One of Stan's greatest joys was the nightly walk down the Boulevard with the beloved, spirited Moogie, the Energizer Doxy. The last few years found Stan in declining health, but he valiantly persevered, making several remarkable recoveries. Mary Talamantes watched over "The Boss" at home, and Roxie kept voluminous notes of all doctor and hospital visits as she and Stan sought answers under Dr. Flam's continuing care. The family is grateful for such good care; many thanks also to the St. Agnes doctors and staff for their kindness to the family in Stan's final hours. Stan, predeceased by his parents and only sibling Al. Stanley is survived by his wife Roxie; sister-in-law Joie; nieces Joal Charest and her husband Ross, and Starla; nephews Rev. Keith Jizmejian and his wife Kim, and Mike and his wife Jodi Jizmejian; and ten great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation, will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Chapel on Thursday, December 9, 2004, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns and Blair Chapel on Friday, December 10, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to SouthPoint Foursquare Church, 5391 E.
