Linda Lee Bushman, 72, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. She was born in Elkhart on July 19, 1949, to Robert Keith and Ilene Mae (McCollough) Johnston. She was raised by Jean and Bud Lyon. She married Michael Lee Bushman on Sept. 2, 1971; he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2009.
Linda previously lived in Elkhart before moving to Frankfort in 1971 and then moving to Lafayette in 2009. She received her bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1974 and in 1990 began working as a clerk at Purdue.
She was a member of the Brady Lane Church and a past member of Community Christian Church. She was an avid quilter and was a member of a Frankfort quilt guild for 15 years and the Hoosier Heritage quilt guild in Lebanon. She enjoyed baking, genealogy, and gardening. Every free minute she had, she spent with her grandkids.
Linda is survived by her sons, Bradley Allen Bushman (wife, Julie) of Lafayette and Brian Clark Bushman of Texas; brothers, Thomas Joel Lyon (wife, Linda) of Elkhart and Daniel Ray Lyon (wife, Roxie) of Cromwell; sisters, Barbara LeAnne Proctor of Elkhart and Susan Kay Sargent of Orlando, Florida; and grandchildren, Hannah Nicole Bushman, Maggie Elizabeth Bushman, Briar Dee Lyon Bushman and Ellis Clark Bushman.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the start of the memorial service at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort with Jeff Keller officiating. Inurnment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
Memorial contributions in Linda's honor may be made to Brady Lane Church Food Pantry, 2701 Brady Lane, Lafayette, IN 47909.
