Frances B. Stephens

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel for our mother, Frances B. Stephens, who on April 12, 2010, was escorted to Heaven by her late husband of 68 years, Fred Stephens. The Rev. James Stephens and Chaplain Matthew Rose will officiate with burial at Old Harmony Cemetery. Graveside service will be officiated by the Rev. Gerald Green. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Stephens never had much while on earth, but we know a mansion awaits her. She raised eight children and helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her heart was like her kitchen, always open. She was full of good loving and good cooking. Both will be greatly missed. Mrs. Stephens was a lifelong member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents, J.T. and Annie McCoy; husband, Fred Stephens; sons, Larry Don and Harvey Joe Stephens; and daughter, Brenda Kay Stephens.
She is survived by her children, the Rev. James W. (Brenda) Stephens, Johnny Stephens, Randall (Annette) Stephens, Laura (David) McCormick, Mary Pruitt, Nancy Jane Pierce and Shelby Stephens; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are employees with Amedysis Hospice, Nikki, Lori and Becky.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Laura for all your care that you gave mom.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
