GORDON, MYRTLE

Myrtle Gordon, age 89 of Hawthorne, died Nov. 21, 2009 at home. She was a housewife and a member of MT. Zion A.M. E. Church in Hawthorne where she served as a Stewardess and Usher. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Gordon Sr. and four children, Ovella, Emma, Nancy and Ronald.

She is survived by her loving and devoted family: four sons, James Jr. of Miami, FL, Harold (Jerolene) and Roger (Frenchie), both of Hawthorne, David Jr. (Lorene) of Citra, FL; three daughters, Eva and Persilla, both of Hawthorne and Gwendolyn (Arthur) of Lafayette, LA; 28 grands, 32 great grands, 1 great-great-grand, and a host of other relatives.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gordon will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Hawthorne, FL with Rev. Ida R. Elmore, Officiating. Burial will be in Gordon Chapel Cemetery, Hawthorne, FL. Visitation on Friday at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME 21400 SE HAWTHORNE ROAD, HAWTHORNE, FL, 4-7 p.m. and Saturday at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. No Viewing after the Eulogy. The cortege will form at Mrs. Myrtle Gordon home 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
