Edith Brandon Obituary

Edith Marie Brandon, 75, of 45 Bloomsbury Court, Chapel Hill, N.C. died Monday, February 1, 2016 at the UNC Hospital in Hillsborough, N.C.Born February 19, 1940 in Sutherlin, Va., she was the daughter of the late Norman Vernell James and the late Rena Fuller James. She was married to the late Jerry Davis Brandon.Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Brandon of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three sons, Reginald Brandon of Surprise, Ariz., Jerry D. Brandon, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Darren Brandon of Sutherlin, Va.; eight sisters, Melissa Ferguson and Andrea Cameron, both of Fayetteville, N.C., Vivian Wilson of Cascade, Va., Joyce Logan of McCleansville, N.C., Shelia James of Sutherlin, Va., Nakita James, Sparkie Adams, and Bessene King, all of Greensboro, N.C.; five brothers, Vernell James of Greensboro, N.C., Bobby James, and Jerome James, both of Danville, Va., Julian James of Columbia, S.C., and George James of Sutherlin, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Thomas James.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 5, 2016, at 11 a.m. from East New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan King officiating.
