Harley Bonebrake Obituary

(Twin Lake) Harley Raymond Bonebrake, age 62, passed away at home in Rockford, MI on February 5, 2006, after a short illness. Born in Muskegon, MI on June 8, 1943 to Raymond and Irena Bonebrake. Preceded in death were his parents; a brother, Dennis; and a child, Brenda. He worked most of his life as a computer analyst and consultant. He graduated from Muskegon Business College and Grand Valley University. Harley served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years. Harley was an active member of his community holding a special place in his heart for children as well as helping others in need. He was a member of Chapter MI-G, GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Association) and on three occasions was instrumental in organizing benefits to help his friends in Chapter MI-G raising approximately $10,000.00. After the freedom of motorcycling, he enjoyed golf and fishing. His wish for retirement was to return to the serenity of the fishing he loved. He is survived by Martha (Marta, as he loved to call her) Schneider, beloved friend, and her family: Laura and Matthew Ploeg and David (Jamie Lisanby) Munch. "Grandpa" for their children, Allison and Jacob Ploeg. Children: Brad (Debra) Bonebrake; Brian (Rhonda Hower) Bonebrake; Vickie (Chris Colbert) Bonebrake. Stepchildren: Ty (Kristi) Springer and Wendy (Jack) Vandenberg. Many grandchildren; sisters: Colleen (Patrick) Bishop and Karen (Rev Donald) Bayne; brother: Darryl (Vicky) Bonebrake. Also there were many aunts and uncles, nieces, cousins, previous spouses and special friends. As he wished, there will be a memorial for Harley's friends on March 4, 2006 at his home.
