Doug was a kind person who was very concerned about other people. I was in the Masters of Accounting program at UF for 1 1/2 years.

My heartfelt condolences to his family. I was truly saddened to hear of Doug's death. Doug was a fantastic teacher and mentor to many students at UF. As one of his students in 1978, I was fortunate to experience his passion about teaching, accounting, UF and his family. I hope it helps you all to know how much Doug was respected and admired by a student 30 years after sitting in his classroom. God Bless You

Snowball was my first Accounting Professor and was helpful in my succesfull graduation in 1982. He became my favorite and I visited him a few times after graduation. I always got a kick (and made fun of) the way he would say "thirteen, fourteen", in that Australian accent.

He made an impact on my life, and many others, and always welcomed visitors to his office.

The family are proud of him as they should be. So are his friends, and former students. My deepest condolences to his family.

He was my first accounting professor in 1976. I have now gone on to follow in his footsteps. If my influence on my students is a small fraction of the influence he had on his, I will have had a successful career. Thank you Doug!
