Gary Stobb Obituary

Gary Dale Stobb
1948-2021
Gary Dale Stobb, 73, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2021, in his sleep at his home in Dripping Springs, TX.
Gary was born on May 10, 1948, in San Antonio, TX, to Viola Koenning and Robert Stobb. He graduated from Rice University with a MS in Civil Engineering in 1970 and launched into a long career in engineering and infrastructure management. He served 20 years with Harris County in a number of capacities: Director of Harris County Toll Road, Deputy Director of Harris County Flood Control, Deputy Director of the Public Infrastructure Department, and also spent years with Texas Parks and Wildlife, and was especially fond of his participation in restoration activities on the Battleship Texas in the early 1990's.
He was an avid driver who loved to travel and explore the roads of United States from Alaska to Maine searching for interesting geological attractions. He was also handy with all things mechanical.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jerrie Albin Stobb; daughter, Kristina Lea Stobb Vannoy, her husband, Zakk Vannoy, and their children Abby and Emma; son, David Kirk Stobb, his wife, Virginia Boster, and their children Natalie and Clara; and was preceded in death by his son, Bryce Alan Stobb, who is survived by wife Jessica Stobb, and sons Bowen and A.J. He is also survived by his siblings Bobby Stobb and Carol Stobb.
No services are planned at this time.
