Ada Hofer Obituary

Ada Josephine Omaley (Jo) Hofer
POCATELLO - Ada Josephine Omaley Hofer, 80, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, the result of an accident at home.
She was born in 1927 in Howe, Idaho, to Charles and Charlene Mays Omaley, the oldest of three girls. Josephine was raised in Howe on her father's ranch, attended school in Howe, and graduated from high school at Blackfoot High School in 1945. There she met her life partner, Ray August Hofer, and they married on October 18, 1944 in Dillon, Mont.
Ray and Jo started their home, their family, and their life together in Blackfoot, eventually settling in Pocatello where they raised eleven children.
Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother was an active member of the LDS Church, where she held numerous and various callings. She loved sewing, quilting, painting, gardening and made many lifelong memories square dancing with the only love of her life and many dear friends. Camping and being outside with all her progeny at family reunions were especially joyful to her.
She enjoyed 63 years of marriage to her eternal and loving spouse, Ray, and together they spent many years traveling, camping and square dancing, being virtually inseparable for the last decade.
She is survived by her husband Ray; her sister Louise (Sid) Werry, Ariz.; her children: Larry (Jenny) Hofer, Chile; Rita (Alan) Caldwell, MI; Linda (Michael) England, Idaho; Charlene (Jeff) Benson, Utah; Leslie (Michael) Boos, NE; Denise (Bert) Phillips, Idaho; Hal (Jennifer Cooper) Hofer, California ; Lynette (Kelly) Crompton, Idaho; Tracy (late Robert) Green, Idaho; Don (Elaine) Hofer, California; Marc (Vanessa) Hofer; California; 44 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, her twin boys, a grandson, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Alameda 2nd Ward LDS Chapel on Walnut and Jefferson. Viewing for friends and family will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 7 to 9 pm and prior to the funeral at the LDS Chapel at Jefferson and Walnut at 10 a.m. The interment will follow the services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
