Darlene Young

Darlene Barney Young, 63, passed peacefully from this life and into the arms of her Heavenly Father on July 16, 2013. Darlene was born on July 10, 1950. She was the first of identical twin daughters born unto Jack and Althea Barney in Boise Idaho. She graduated from Boise high in 1968, and received her cosmetology certificate from Lady Catherine School of Beauty. She met the love of her life, Jerry Grant Young. They were married on June 6, 1970 and they celebrated 43 wonderful years. Darlene chose to raise her children over her career. She was enormously talented and excelled in all of her endeavors. She was passionate, vivacious, and full of life. Darlene filled any room she was in with her brilliance and beauty. She was thoughtful, compassionate, self-sacrificing and generous to a fault; an exceptional wife and mother. She lived to serve others and family was her greatest treasure. They were never left in any doubt of their own worth or their mothers love. She was a faithful servant of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and a devoted member of the LDS Church. She was the center of her family's heart, and will be inexpressively missed by all who knew her. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6 to 7 pm at Boise Funeral Home, (8209 Fairview Ave, Boise). Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Idaho City LDS Chapel with a viewing starting at 10:00 am. Darlene was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jack and Althea, brothers, Blair and Clyde. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, her twin sister, Collene Williams (Randy), mother-in-law, Lucy Young, brother-in-law, Dennis (Shelley), and her children, Wendy Schoessler(Victor), Jaymee Norman (Tyler), Loree Ramos (Sergio), Taylor Young (Deborah), and by her nine great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.
