Toshiko Kora Obituary

Toshiko Kora
March 23, 1921 - August 14, 2014
Toshiko "Tee" Kora, 93, Notus, ID, went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 14, 2014. Tee was born on March 23, 1921, in Rocky Ford, CO, to Sampei and Toku Kido. She was the oldest of ten children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam, one brother, Frank Kido, and one sister, Lillian Akagi. Her surviving siblings are: Mary Hiraga, Joe Wyeno, Mike Kido, Harry Wyeno, Henry Wyeno, Dorothy Adams, and May Clermont. She married Sam Isamu Kora on February 18, 1943, in Caldwell, ID. She is survived by her five children: Irish Kuntz, Portland, OR; Sam (Coral), Montgomery, AL, and their children, Keiko, Michael (Meredith), and Paul; Cheryl (George) Pugh, Shedd, OR, and their children, Kimi (Jon) Fong, Denver (Shay), and Hunter; Janice (Wally) Hoki, Caldwell, ID, and their children, Grant (Raechelle) and Alina; and Ilene (Stanley) Wallace, Caldwell, ID. She was also very proud of her five great grandchildren Jonathan, Makenzie, Abbie, Coby, and Kora June.
Her love and dedication to her family touches our hearts very tenderly and will continue to guide us through our lives. Like so many women of her generation, her commitment was to her husband, family, and home. We will remember her love of gardening. She grew beautiful purple irises, cosmos, and peonies. Her "delicious" fried chicken will be one of our fondest memories. She will be missed and loved for all time to come. Tee worked at McClure's Bakery and the J.R. Simplot Company from where she retired in 1986.
She was an active member of the Notus First Baptist Church until she had to go into assisted living for health reasons in 2007. The family would like to thank all who had a part in caring for her in her last days, especially Michelle & Steve Davis and XL Hospice. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, August 22, 2014, 5:00-8:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00am. at the Notus First Baptist Church. There will be a private family graveside service at the Lower Boise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Notus First Baptist Church, 441 Notus Rd, PO Box 255, Notus, ID 83656. Condolences may be given at www.Flahifffuneralchapel.com

Mrs. Kora was the gentlest, kindest, sweetest person I knew. I loved when she worked at the bakery and would sometimes bring home banana bar donuts that Ilene and I would eat as we'd lay out in the sun on a summer day. Her warmth and her gracious smile will be missed.
