DANIEL (DANNY) SECKY
With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, Danny on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 38 years.
Left to mourn Danny’s memory are his loving parents, Frank and Dagmar Secky of Winnipeg and numerous relatives in Czech Republic.
Danny was born in Liberec, Czech Republic on February 24, 1978 and came to Canada with his parents in 1984. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with his Bachelor of Education in 2001 and enjoyed his teaching career. Danny was passionate about cycling. He also had received his 4th level black belt in Tae Kwon Do from the K.S. Cho Tae Kwon Do College. Another favourite past time was photography.

Our family fondly remembers Danny as a patient and caring teacher. A group of us travelled with Danny to Korea a number of years ago where we had the honor of getting to know this quiet, creative and humble man a little bit better. Danny you will be missed and our hearts go out to your family.

I have a heavy heart along with our Taekwondo family. Mr. Daniel Secky whom I have known for over 15yrs as a martial artist and also a great mentor and friend. Some of our members remember Mr. Secky whom volunteered his time to do our promotion test. Some of our members remember him as their teacher in public schools. He is one person I model from and showed me how to be humble but yet still be powerful. Rest in peace my good friend and now you have eternal life. My sincere sympathy to the family and God bless!

I am so very sorry to hear of Danny's passing. He was a student of mine years ago at John Taylor Collegiate. He was in both my Art and Drafting classes. When I think of the students over the years, Danny fits in as one of the best I've ever taught. He was brilliant. Far ahead in his thinking than other students in the class. He was a quiet, polite and wonderful person.
My sympathies go out to his family. You will be missed Danny. Rest in peace.

I met Danny in 2004. I could see right away he was such a kind and passionate person. I was honoured to introduce him to my best friend and to see them date for the next few years. Danny loved dancing. I remember how much his eyes lit up every time he talked about dancing. He always loved unique and artsy things and was always a very interesting and caring individual. Over the years life got busy and we haven't been in touch, which I regret. I'm so sorry to hear about Danny's passing. It's a great loss. Sincerest condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Danny, you will be missed. Sincerely, your friend Ellen
