LuANN MOTEL Obituary
LuANN, age 78, fell asleep in the Lord on May 24, 2013, after a remarkable 13 year battle with metastatic renal cancer and Parkinson's Disease. LuAnn remained positive and engaged in the lives of her family and in the life of her church. LuAnn's courage and Christian grace provided inspiration to her husband of 57 years, Donald, her children Marta (Kevin Grewell), Peter (Bonnie), Stephen (Alex Kaplan), and Andrew (Natanya Sortland);her grandchildren Zachary, Daniel, Amanda, Emma, and Nathan, and to their families, all of whom celebrate her exemplary life and honor her memory.
LuAnn's personal life was devoted to serving her family, and her professional life was devoted to the care of others with cancer. In 1976, with her children grown, she earned a BSN at Gwynedd Mercy College and began work as an oncology nurse at Hahnemann. She was highly active in St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church, where she served for many years on the Church Council and as Warden (President) and in Holy Ascension Orthodox Church. Her greatest comfort has always been her family. She took particular joy in the fact that all of her children and grandchildren live in the area and remain close. They are her legacy and gift to the world.
Viewing will be at MAUGER/ GIVNISH INC. FUNERAL HOME, 24 Monument Ave., Malvern PA 19355 on Wednesday , May 29, 2013, from 6 to 9 P.M., with a Memorial Service at 8 P.M. Visitation and Funeral Services will be at St. Philip Orthodox Church, 1970 Clearview Rd., Souderton PA 18964 on Thursday, May 30, 2013, beginning at 10 A.M., with Burial to follow in the adjacent Church Cemetery.
All are invited to break bread together immediately after at the Church. Contributions in LuAnn's memory may be made to Bryn Mawr Hospital Fdn., 130 South Bryn Mawr Ave., Bryn Mawr PA 19010 or for Parkinson's Research c/o www.MichaelJFox.org or Holy Ascension Orthodox Church 558 Highland Rd, West Chester PA 19380.

O God of spirits, and of all flesh, who hast trampled down Death and overthrown the Devil and given life to Thy World: Do Thou, the same Lord, give rest to the soul of Thy departed handmaid, LuAnn, in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away. Pardon her every transgression which she has committed, whether by word or deed or thought, through knowledge or through ignorance. For Thou art a good God who lovest Mankind; because there is no man who lives yet does not sin; for Thou only art without sin; Thy righteousness is righteousness to all eternity; and Thy word is Truth.
For Thou art the Resurrection, the Life, and the repose of Thy handmaid, Luann, who is fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Father, Who is from everlasting, and Thine All-holy, Good, and Life-creating Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Aunt LuAnn is present in so many of my life memories - from days spent at the shore to vacations together. Her love of family, strength, and incredible common sense attitude have shaped me and will live on with my kids as well. Memory Eternal!
