Marvin Pipps

A Celebration of Life service for Marvin Pipps, 70, of Pollok, will be held Friday, December 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of The Nazarene in Nacogdoches with Pastor Rev. Joseph A. Dagostino III officiating. Lunch will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Mr. Pipps was born September 15, 1947 in Zwolle, Louisiana, the son of the late Alex and Willie Mae Pipps, and died Monday, December 4, 2017 at his residence. He was a dear friend to many, and a number one fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mr. Pipps was a proud Apache, and a well-respected painter in the Nacogdoches community for nearly fifty years. He was a selfless man that was always willing to help those in need. Mr. Pipps will be sorely missed. Mr. Pipps is survived by his wife, Nona Vestal of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Karen (DeeDee) and Robert Sanders of Lake Charles; daughter and son-in-law, Oretha and Mike Sanders of Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughter, Tina Pipps of Nacogdoches; grandsons and spouses, Allen and Jamie Nicole, David and Haley, Michael and Kaylynn, Seth and Logan Melton; granddaughters, Michelle and Brittany Sanders; great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Paul, Cayson, Zadie and Emalynn Sanders; godchildren, Sharon Grimes Moore and Allen Sanders; and sister, Delores Grimes of Nacogdoches; along with many nieces and nephews throughout Texas and Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Willie Mae Pipps; beloved wife, Margie Batson Pipps; sister, Joyce Pipps; and grandson, Stephen Sanders. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, directors.
