SONDRA F. MYERS, 62 FREEPORT - Sondra F. Myers, 62, of Freeport, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in her home. She was born on July 4, 1951, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Charles and Joan (Burkhart) Edmunds. She married Dennis Myers on June 20, 1970, at the Church of the Cross in Hillsdale, IL. Sondra was a teacher for Freeport School District 145 for sixteen years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the National Education Association and Freeport Elks Lodge 617. Survivors include her husband, Dennis Myers of Freeport, IL; two sons, Chad (Kristi) Myers of McFarland, WI, and Christopher (Laura) Myers of McConnell, IL; her brother, Michael (Lisa) Edmunds of Auburndale, FL; her sister, Brenda (Jim) Wilson of Greenville, SC; her sister-in-law, Cheryl Edmunds of Silvis, IL; and three grandchildren, Anastasia, Sophia, and Charlie Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Edmunds; and her nephew, Brett Wilson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Blomberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
