Clarence Rhodes Obituary

RHODES, Clarence N.
Of Marcellus


Passed away Friday evening, June 19, 2009 in Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI. following a one-day illness. He was born April 27, 1928 in Decatur, MI., the son of Harry and Ethel Rhodes. On January 16, 1954 in Paw Paw, MI., he married Dorothy M. Reish who preceded him in death on November 29, 2008. He had been a resident of Marcellus the past 48 years. In 1988 he retired from ConRail after 30 years of service. He had served in the U.S Army in Germany. He was a member of the AARP. Surviving are one daughter, Sandra (Dale) Davidhizar Jr. of Three Rivers, MI., four sons, Ronald (Pamela) Rhodes of Schoolcraft, MI., Donald (Cindy) Rhodes of Lawton, Bruce (Shelli) Rhodes and Jeff (Lisa) Rhodes both of Marcellus; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Hedrington of New Paris, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in the Mater Funeral Home, Marcellus with Rev. Dwight Hostetler, pastor of the Edwards Corners Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow in Marcellus Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Edwards Corners Bible Church.
