Went to be with his Lord Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Three Rivers Health Emergency. John, a Godly and humble man, was born May 2, 1937 in Lockport, New York, the son of Fredrick John and Marie (Montag) Riemer. John graduated in the class of 1955 from Royalton-Hartland High School, in New York. He graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in Engineering in 1959. He worked for Dayco from April 1960-1981 and later was Vice President of Engineering at Republic Roller for 25 years until his retirement on May 30, 2007. He married Joyce Atkinson on April 13, 1972 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Three Rivers. John was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, former president of the JC's, a member of Crime Stoppers, very active in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, member of the Community Chest and his hobbies included fishing, working in the out of doors, sailing, watching deer in his backyard and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and their many activities. John was always offering a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a most giving man. John is survived by his wife Joyce; six children, Randy (Cheri) Riemer, Haslet, MI, Andy Riemer, Ludington, MI, Rob (Kelli) Atkinson, Three Rivers, MI, Wendy Williams, CA, Julie (Joe) Lenzo, Ludington, MI, Robin Hall, White Pigeon, MI; one brother, Norman (JoAnn) Riemer, Indianapolis, IN, 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. The family will receive visitors Friday, December 28, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Hohner Funeral Home . Funeral services for John F. Riemer will be Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 11 AM at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Three Rivers, with Rev. Alan Stadelman officiating. Interment will follow in Constantine Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
