1936 - 2014

PRATER Pastor David Lee, 78, of Northumberland, PA went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Son of the late Boyd and Blanche (Babb) Prater, he was born in Jenkins, Kentucky on October 29, 1936. He has been married to Martha (Wolfe) Prater for 50 years. He is survived by daughter, Michelle Henrickson and her husband Kevin of Saint Charles, IL; daughter, Jennifer Bergey and her husband Michael of Northumberland, PA; son-in-law Douglas Rex of Fishers, IN; grandchildren Jeff, Korinne, Ki, Caleb, Lauren, Audrey, Lexi and Ellie; mother-in-law Nellie Wolfe, brothers John Prater, James Prater and Dan Prater; sister Carol Lindon; and several nieces and nephews. He was welcomed into heaven by his daughter, Melissa; grandson Tyler Michael; his brother Charles; parents Boyd and Blanche Prater; and father-in law Carl Wolfe. He began his ministry as a pastor of a little schoolhouse church in the hills of Kentucky. He traveled as an evangelist for three years and spent 15 years pastoring churches in Kentucky. In 1994 he became the Eastern Kentucky District Superintendent of the Nazarene churches, retiring in 2003. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, Dec 29 at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 71 Nazarene Lane, Milton, PA and from 10-11am Tuesday with the funeral at 11am. Officiating will be his nephew Pastor Greg McDonald along with Pastor David Martino. Burial will follow at Beaver Run Mennonite Cemetery, rural Turbotville, PA.
