Evelyn Sinkhorn

GEORGETOWN - Evelyn Chowning Sinkhorn, 90, widow of Bill Sinkhorn, passed away June 15, 2014 in Georgetown. She was born March 10, 1924 in Scott County to the late Jesse and Annie Wells Chowning. She was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church, was a graduate of Oxford High School. She was a volunteer member of the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, and a 50-year member of American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by children, Norman (Judy) Sinkhorn, Billy Sinkhorn (Jo Ann Darnell), and Randy (Cathy) Sinkhorn, all of Georgetown; grandchildren, Jeff Sinkhorn, Laryssa McConnaughhay, Kerri Turner, Jesse Sinkhorn, Jacob Sinkhorn, Chelsea Sinkhorn, Matthew Sinkhorn, Laura Sinkhorn, and Emily Sink-horn; and 9 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her step mother, Trella Chowning, a brother, Harold Chowning, and nieces, Ann Vance and Ada McFarland. Funeral services are 1pm Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Weekley officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery with pallbearers being Jeff Sink-horn, Jesse Sinkhorn, Matthew Sinkhorn, Bob Miller, Ron Miller and Donnie Chowning. Honorary bearers are Ross McConnaughhay, Shawn Turner, Jacob Sink-horn, Stuart Miller, Mike Miller, George Lancaster, Jack Lancaster, Keith Lancaster, Charles David Bush, and Mike Anderson.
