Howard DeJong Obituary
Howard Wesley DeJong (92) of Reseda, CA passed away peacefully in his home on April 7th, 2017. Howard was born in Lynden, WA. on March 25, 1925 to Matilda and Charles DeJong. He lived there with his Brother, Glen and Sister, Mildred until the family moved to Beverly Hills, CA when Howard was 13 yrs old. He attended Beverly Hills High School, where he excelled in all sports, but especially basketball and baseball. In 1943, Howard enlisted into the Air Corp and became a 2nd Lieutenant in 1945. He was honorably discharged in 1947.
Howard started his own business as an Independent Milk Distributor, serving numerous bakeries, restaurants and schools. He would have loved working until the day he died, but due to his failing eyesight he retired at the young age of 89 years old, when his Grandson Joe Barker took over the business. Howard enjoyed participating in restoring old cars and spending time in their home in Ensenada, Mexico.
Howard was preceded in death by his Parents, & Siblings.
Howard is survived by his loving Wife of 34 years, Barbara J. Dejong; his Daughter Melinda & her Husband Russ Cohee, Son Howard DeJong, Jr., Stepdaughters Tracie Livingston, Desiree & her Husband Jim Stepan, Sarah & her Husband Josh Diggs, and by his Stepson Guy Johnson.
He is also survived by his Grandchildren, Lisa & her Husband Ralph
Randolph, Joe & his Wife Roeuy Barker, Kevin & His wife Cathy DeJong, Natalie Langenfeld, Shannon Langenfeld, Alexis Stepan, 2nd Lt. Zachary Stepan, Mahrya Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, Ashlin and Kaden Diggs.
Finally, he is survived by his Great Grandchildren. Dylan & Addison Randolph, Abbey, Tommy, & Jared DeJong, Justin, Brandon, Ava, & Brooke Barker, Donovan, Caleb & Marley Langenfeld.
Howard will be remembered for his sense of humor and his kindness and will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege to meet him. A memorial service will be held at the home of Russ & Melinda in Northridge, CA on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Howard W. DeJong's name to the charity of your choice.

Sorry to hear about Howard I use to work at the dairy in LA back 1980 a supervisor with Rod Watson also in the City of industry. Howard was a good funny guy. God bless him.
