Joann DeSpain Obituary
She was a former employee of Reynolds Metal in Elizabethtown as well as the best loving mother and homemaker.
Joann was preceded in death by a daughter, Susie Embry; her parents, Joe Mac and Stella DeSpain Skaggs; a grandson, Alphonso Shepherd; three sisters, Kathleen Howell, Barbara Pickerell, Doris Reser; three brothers, Gene Skaggs, Bobby Skaggs and Homer Bradley.
She is survived by her husband, Orval Odell DeSpain; five daughters, Debra Johnson of Elizabethtown, Linda (Steve) Skaggs of Buffalo, Lisa (Lee) Ashley of Elizabethtown, Kathy (Dave) Dulak of Hodgenville, Chrissy DeSpain of Magnolia; two sons, Darrell (Karen) Embry of Frankfort and Billy Joe Embry of Buffalo; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 17, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Tim Maggard officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Joann. I think of her and Odell often. There has always been a special place in my heart for the both of them.
