Edward Breen Obituary

BREEN, JR., "Ned" Edward M. Spouse, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Born October 19, 1919, died September 18, 2006; graduate of Fairfax High School and UCLA; US Army veteran of World War II; owner of Great Western TV & Appliances for 50 years; member of Wilshire Country Club for 43 years. Survived by Josephine Yglesias Breen, his wife of 55 years; his six children and their spouses: Greg Breen and Cindy Quane, Pat and Peggy Breen, Jamie Breen and Cameron Hall, Tom and Linda Breen, John Breen and Justine Wolcott, and Kelly and Rick Rielly; and 16 grandchildren; Bryan, James, Brigid, Brendan, Mathew, Michael, Erin, Hazen, Amelia, Eleanor, Luisa, and Willow Breen and Patrick, Mary, Josephine, and Elizabeth Rielly. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Jo and Ned Breen Family Scholarship fund at Loyola High School, 1901 Venice Blvd., LA 90006 or USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1441 Eastlake Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90033. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday September 23 at St. Brendan Church, 310 So. Van Ness Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. Callanan Mortuary Directors (323) 462-2266

Through our grief and sorrow we will find strength and joy. Ned provided all of us an outstanding example of how to embrace life. He has left a tremendous legacy. Now, we are left to uphold it. We love you all.
