Surely you and your family will feel the deeper lost;
However, I am saddened and feel a lost for me not
having known the great man and global contributor that Darryl was. He really left his mark on the world
And is most to be admired and looked up to by young people and others.
Marva for the Thorpe Family. We love you Debbie!

Deborah,
Ray called me to tell me about Darryl and a piece of my heart broke, we had such a great time together on the 92 culinary team, years ago but still feels like yesterday and the chef world has lost a great friend.
Even though we did not stay in contact I thought of him often that was the affect he had on people and I will always remember his smile and laugh, you are in my thoughts and prayers and may Darryl rest in peace.

Deborah, I was sadden to hear of the loss of your husband. I can remember the first time we met at an IRS managers' meeting and you shared a few little known facts. One that stood out was being married to a wonderful chef. The beam in your eye, the glow in your face coupled with a beautiful smile made me know you were very proud of the man whose name I now know as Darryl.
May God comfort and keep you during this most difficult time.

My heart is very heavy and saddened to have received this news of the loss of my friend since childhood, Chef Darryl Evans. What an incredible gain to Heaven's premises.
My mind goes back as far as I can remember to the days of New Mount Zion Baptist Church and the Junior Choir. We had such great times. His mother, Mrs. Violet Evans, was the Youth Director and she did NOT play with us. She whipped us all into shape (vocally, figuratively and literally) and would often invite us all over to the house for dinner, fun, games and Atari. :)
Wow, I'm going to miss you, my brother, but will always have very fond memories of growing up with and alongside you.
My sincerest and deeply heartfelt condolences go out to Mr. Ray & Mrs. Violet Evans; I cannot imagine what it must feel like to have had to bury two children. However, I know and am convinced that God is The Creator. He knows our beginning, the work we shall accomplish, our end and the legacy we will leave behind. Those parents raised a legend, indeed, who would grow up to become someone great, in career and as a person.
To God be all glory for a life wonderfully lived. May your smile light up Heaven even greater than it did Earth.
Rest well until we meet again.
