Ginger Allen Obituary

ANTRIM - Ginger Ann (Bunnell) Allen, Ginny; or Gingerbread as she was fondly known, age 72 of Antrim, passed away on Saturday April 26, 2014. She was born to the late Dixon T. Bunnell and Mary J. (Mccormick) Bunnell on Sep. 10, 1941. She was pre-deceased by her sister Ramona Gadwah and brother-in-law Glendon Gadwah.

Ginny graduated Whitefield High School in 1960, and shortly afterward met her future husband; Richard E. Allen Jr. Rick and Ginny married on Oct. 20, 1962 and had two daughters; Pamela and Deborah.

Ginny loved her family, friends, and her cat Buttons, and always had a smile, hug, or a shoulder to lean on for anyone who needed it. Her smile was contagious, and she loved to laugh and joke with those around her. She had a passion for gardening and baking, enjoyed walks with her husband, and loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren.

Ginny is survived by her husband, Richard Allen of Antrim, their two daughters, Pamela Lechlider and Deborah Robicheau, both of Peterborough and their significant others, as well as seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many dear friends.

There will be a celebration of life on May 18 at 72 Lookout Hill Road in Peterborough between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. for family and friends to remember Ginny. This will be a casual affair.

I met you in 1976 after meeting your amazing daughter, Deb. I spent many nights at your house as Deb and I were inseparable. This lasted all through our teenage years. You were the best second Mom any girl could ask for. So understanding through our many teenage antics. Fondly recall our trip to Hanover together to visit Deb while she was hospitalized. And with a grin, recall the speeding ticket you got in Dublin. LOL You will live in my memories forever! I will miss you until we meet again. Love You <3

My dearest adopted mother.. You were my special mom throughout my high school years.. You welcomed me with open arms and called me your daughter.... And you even treated me like a daughter... When Pammy and I would not come home in time or when we wrecked the car on a back road... I have so so many memories ... But our camping ..... was always an adventure with you and dad..!! I love you mom and my heart aches but, I know we will be with each other again... My love will carry on for eternity ... Till we meet again mom......
