Anna Maria Boffa of Middletown died Sunday, November 15, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was 71 years old.

Anna Maria was born July 13, 1938 in Meta, Italy to the late Luigi and Anna Somma Silvestri.

She married Mario Boffa in 1958 and they shared 52 wonderful years together. Everyone loved her, she was outgoing, a great cook, helpful to all, very independent and always got the last word in. Anna was proud of her heritage and visiting all of her family back in Italy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mario, at home; four sons: Potito and his wife, Sonna of Dallas TX, Luigi, Antonio, and Antonino and his wife, Arlene, all of Daytona FL; two daughters, Pina McKane and her husband, Timothy of Bloomingburg and Anna Orza and her husband, Alfredo of Daytona, FL; her sister, Adele Pellechia of Meta, Italy; her 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; many of nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her grandson, Michael McKane in 2007.

Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., today, Wednesday, November 18, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 19, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Cottage St., Middletown.
