Arthur Mouradjian Obituary

Published by Hamilton-Wenham Chronicle from Dec. 12 to Dec. 19, 2012.
Arthur A. Mouradjian, 80, of Wenham, a man who dedicated his life to the goodness of others, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Brigham & Women Hospital after a lengthy illness with his family by his side. Mr. Mouradjian was a longtime resident of Waltham before moving to Wenham in 2011 with his wife Isqouhi of 54 years. A full gathering of family and friends tendered him an 80th birthday party celebration this past summer. An opportunity never escaped without a chance to help others in need, whether it was a grandchild off to college or a brother-in-law needing some carpentry help. Mr. Mouradjian was a jack of all trades, and usually challenged himself as the unequivocal master of all. He liked nothing better than a challenge. Some of his stellar moments were working inside a kitchen conjuring up a special meal for the holidays. A barbeque grille would get its workout each summer. So would his gs when it came to hunting down a bargain. Mr. Mouradjian shared his Wenham and Waltham residences with a summer cottage on Country Pond in Newton Junction, NH, and a winter home in Juno Beach, Fla., where he cultivated many new friendships. A world traveler, Mr. Mourdjian visited a number of countries with his wife and family, including such places as Australia, Russia, the Mediterranean, Far East, and National Parks in America. He was born in Malden, Aug. 12, 1932, son of Tateos and Miriam (Kevorkian) Mouradjian, and was educated in local schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, stationed in Alaska, and spent his working life in the grocery industry, more notably as a produce inspector for Star Market Corporation. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, June Anthony and her husband Thomas, and Cheryl Ryan and her husband Scott; four grandchildren, Ryan and Kevin Anthony, and Meghan and Michelle Ryan; a sister Gloria Salerno and her companion Boghos Willy Peligian, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He lived to see three of his oldest grandchildren play varsity sports, secure a college education, and venture forth into young adulthood, with the fourth well on her way. He was predeceased by a sister, Alyce Poldoian, and a brother, Richard Mouradjian. A memorial service will take place Monday December 17, 2012 at 12 noon at the Story Chapel, located at 580 Mt. Auburn Street inside Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute (for Dr. Jennifer Brown's Research/in memory of Arthur Mouradjian) and mail to office of Development and the Jimmy Fund, C/O Kate Hall, 10 Brookline Place-6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445. Arrangements are by the Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn St., Watertown

Cheryl and family,
I am very sorry to hear this news. When I met your Dad this summer, it was instant love! He was so enthusiastic about his tabouli recipe, so cute. Reminded me of my father. I'm sure he will be sorely missed.
