(née Zimmerman)
After an unexpected illness, Betty died on June 28, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Jean for 57 years. Much loved and devoted mother of Stephen and wife Karen, Teresa Andari-Wigeluk and husband John. Cherished and adored grandmother of Joshua and Andrew. Survived by her brother Bill Zimmerman and wife Karen, and predeceased by her siblings, Valma Jacques (Addie), Audrene (Harry Templeman / Wes Gallaway), Harry Zimmerman (Georgina), Bonnie Shiell (survived by Jack). Sister-in-law of Stephen Andary (Genevieve), Tony Andary (Mona), May Hamway (the late Eddie), Juliette Saba (the late Dak), Josephine Ibrahim (Boula) and Salwa Andary, and predeceased by sister-in- law Annie Andary (Youssif). Betty will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was born April 3, 1933 in Gorrie, ON to her parents, Sanford and Teresa "Tessie". She graduated from the nursing program at Wingham Hospital and nursed across Canada. She married Jean Andari in 1960. The family lived in Clinton, ON for several years before moving to Windsor in 1971. There, Mr. and Mrs. "A" operated the Windsor Hairstyling School until retiring in 2000. Over the years, Betty was a dedicated member and volunteer of Holy Name of Mary Church, now Assumption Parish. Betty enjoyed her garden and loved to travel. If you so desire, donations to Hotel Dieu-Grace Healthcare-Palliative Care Unit (Emara Building) or Mission Club of Assumption Parish would be appreciated by the family. Mr.A and family,
I am proud to say that I attended the BEST hairstyling/barbering school there has ever been!!! Mr. and Mrs. A ran a tight ship and they had the respect/fear of all of their students! My career of 23 years and counting is due to Mrs. A and her not giving up on me! I'm so thankful that I got the chance to see Mr. and Mrs. A when they stopped by my salon about 3 weeks ago! Her smile made me smile all day! May you Rest In Peace Mrs.A... class of 1995
