Bobby Glenn Carter, 83, of Odessa passed from this earth on November 16, 2016 in Odessa, Texas. Bob was born in Wichita Falls, TX to Velma Vivian and Hughe Carter on May 2, 1933. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School and worked at the local Ford dealership. At this dealership is where Bob met Pal Marie who later became his wife in Henrietta, TX on September 16, 1953. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the National Guard. Bob was also a Master Mason for over 50 years receiving his 32 degree honors. Bob and Pal Marie moved to Odessa, TX in 1957 where Bob continued his mechanic occupation until selling cars got into his blood. Bob sold cars for Joe White Lincoln Mercury, which became Sewell Lincoln Mercury, for over 30 years until his retirement in 1997. Bob was a member of the National Clock association, The Permian Basin Depression Glass Club, and an active member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pal Marie Carter, His sister Vivian Thompson of Austin, TX, and brother Curtis R. Carter of Bryan, TX. Bob is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Marcie Carter of Midland, and two wonderful grandsons, Carson and Chandler, who were his light and joy of each day, and brothers, Alton and his wife Sue Carter of Wichita Falls, TX, and Bill Carter of Miami, Florida. Bob is also survived by his daughter-in-law and Diane Nichols of Abilene, TX, and her children Brady and Brooke Nichols, Cody and Rachel Nichols, and brother-in-law Dan and Dianne Smith of Mansfield, TX, and their children Chad and Karissa Smith and Shauna and Lindsey Moore. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, on Monday, November 21st at Frank Wilson Funeral Home in Odessa with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening November 20th from 6-8:00pm at Frank Wilson Funeral home, 4635 Oakwood Dr., Odessa, TX. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church, 709 N. Lee St. Odessa, TX 79761. Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

dear ones, asking God to anoint you all with comfort, peace, strength, and His amazing grace during this difficult time of loss. we were so shocked at his passing. we had visited before Bible study on sunday and he was his usual self. we appreciated his regular attendance and enjoyed his dry sense of humor. he will be missed. rick & anna cates, directors sr. adult 6 Bible study, 1st baptist church odessa.
