NILES - Bonnie Kennedy, 66, of Niles, passed away at Hospice House of South Bend on Friday, August 25, 2017.
Bonnie was born on June 26, 1951 to the late Fred and Lois (Hadley) Bedford in Pueblo, Colorado. After graduating from high school Bonnie met Ron Kennedy; the two were inseparable and in October of 1969, they wed and in 1971 moved to Michigan. Together they had two sons, James and Cale.
Bonnie enjoyed working; she liked to help people and through her job as Office Manager at Silverbrook Manor in Niles she was able to enjoy both of those for over 20 years before finishing her career at Benchmark of South Bend. When she wasn't working she could be found at any one of her grandchildren's sporting events, spending time up north at the family cabin in Irons, or traveling with her husband, Ron.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Ron Kennedy; sons, James “Jim” (Melissa) Kennedy of Niles and Cale (Chasity) Kennedy of Niles; grandchildren, Chaise, Gaige, Kadence, and Jade; siblings, Muffet (Paul) LePage of Pueblo, Colorado, Deby Wolf of Pueblo West, Colorado, and Fred (Tami) Bedford of Lafayette, Colorado; and many extended family members and close friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Bonnie's life will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at Hope United Methodist Church located at 69941 Elkhart Road in Edwardsburg at 6:00 p.m., with a time of visitation two hours prior.
Bonnie was a regular blood donor for the American Red Cross Blood Bank. Those wishing to make a donation in Bonnie's memory may do so to their local ARCBB or by donating blood to help those in need

This is so nice it was a shock when I seen this when she passed I beat cancer and it has been 5 years of Hell, from the side effects of the chemo I don't do much as I have neroupthy and chemo ate my body up. Bonnie was such a wonderful friend. They say it get easier as time goes by but it doesn't..So many fun times with Bonnie and Ron threw the years, I am sending my prayers your way. Hope to see you in Dec19 when Billy gets married.Sending love and hug to the whole family

Carroll and I are so sad that Bonnie is no longer with us all. She was a special lady. And probably the only one who could have kept you three boys in line. We always laughed about how when you started talking about going on a hunting trip that he would call Bonnie to see if you were really going.
May God hold all of you in His arms during this time of sorrow.
