Carl R. Rogers

LITCHFIELD -- Carl R. Rogers, 43, died unexpectedly, Friday, May 16, 2008, from a heart condition while on a motorcycle vacation in South Carolina.

He was born in Portland on May 11, 1965, a son of Darrel and Nancy Matthews Rogers. He was a graduate of Mount Ararat High School in Topsham.

Carl was owner of Augusta Collision in Augusta, restoring and selling used cars.

He loved his daughters, riding motorcycles, living on the lake, boating and fishing.

He was a member of the Augusta American Legion and the Eagles in Gardiner.

He was predeceased by his mother, in 2003.

He is survived by his father, of Farmington, and his wife, Cathy; two daughters, Taylor and Courtney Rogers, both of Litchfield; five brothers, James Varney, of Manchester, N.H., Edland Varney, of Topsham, and his wife, Cindy, Kenneth Varney, of Brunswick, and his wife, Cheryl, his twin brother, Barent Rogers, of Vermont, and his wife, Kathy, and Corey Rogers, of Farmington; three sisters, Kimberly Sullivan, of Richmond, and her husband David, Sara Rogers, of Brunswick, and Casey Rogers, of Farmington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Rockwood officiating. Interment will be in Cranberry Horn Cemetery, Harpswell.
