David Beagarie Obituary

Published by Naperville Sun from Jan. 5 to Jan. 6, 2016.
David M. Beagarie, age 72, passed peacefully away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015. He had battled cancer bravely for the past two years. David has been a resident of Naperville, IL since 1976, formerly of Guildford, England. Beloved husband of Carol Beagarie for 49 years, loving father of Tracey Beagarie of Chicago, IL, Kevin (Tracy) Beagarie and adored Papa of Kieralyn Beagarie of Orland Park, IL and Cyndie Beagarie of Lake in the Hills, IL, devoted son of the late George and Betty Beagarie, and dear friend of many. David was a graduate of Nottingham University in England with a B.Sc. in Chemistry and began his work career with Royal Dutch Shell in the Netherlands. In 1973, David began a long and successful career with Amoco, now British Petroleum (BP), starting in Geneva, Switzerland and eventually transitioning to the Chicagoland area where he 'retired' in 2003. He consulted for BP for the next few years. In his younger days, David played rugby and enjoyed a short acting career in England. He was a proud participant in his children's school and sports activities which included music (Choir, Band, Dance, & Theatre), youth soccer, Boy & Girl Scouts, and swimming (USS, high-school and local programs-including Steeple Run and Cress Creek among others). The family loved to travel, thanks to David's career, and enjoyed visits to many locations around the world with family and friends. David had a love for gardening, especially his backyard waterfall. He also enjoyed reading to his granddaughter. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16th from 2:00 - 5:30 pm concluding with a 5:30 pm funeral service at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL.
