Donald Cornelius Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 26 to Jul. 27, 2006.
Donald R. Cornelius was born on November 28, 1957 in Goshen, New York. He passed away after a long struggle with cancer on July 20, 2006 surrounded by family and friends at home in Upland. A strong Marine to the very end, Don served his country from 1974-1978, but "once a Marine, ALWAYS a Marine." The happiest day of his life was on July 11, 1983 when his daughter was born. Don worked for the City of Pomona for 27 1/2 years in the tree division. When not at home he could be found on the golf course, his biggest passion. Don was survived by his wife of 13 years, Lorie Cornelius; his daughter, Stacy C ornelius; his mother and step-father, Lillian & Bill Taylor; his brother and sister-in-law, George & Joann Cornelius; and his sister and brother-in-law, Helen & Bob DeLucia. Don loved and was loved by too many family and friends to list. He will FOREVER be in our hearts. Funeral: Riverside National Cemetary, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518 @ 9:30 a.m. Memorial: Ganesha Park Community Center, 1575 N White Ave., Pomona, CA 91766 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donati on to the Oral Cancer Foundation @ 3419 Via Lido #205, Newport Beach, CA 92663 or www.oralcancerfoundation.org. Don asks that everyone support the American Cancer Society by participating or donating to your local "Relay For Life" every year.
