Donald Hall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2015.
Donald Ray Hall, age 43, passed away on Feb. 19, 2015, in Palmer, Alaska. Don was born on Nov. 14, 1971, in Gilroy, Calif. He graduated from Palmer High School in 1990, and served his country as a member of the United States Army. Don married Diane Marie Contini on Sept. 18, 1999. They had five children. Don worked at Tesoro and as "Mr. Howdy Howdy" at PetZoo in Wasilla, Alaska. The greatest job he had was as a stay-at-home dad to Kyle, Gavin and Makayla. Don's hobbies included computer games, politics, science and World War History. Don's family says of him, "Don loved his wife and children. Becoming a father of three in one and a half years, changed his life forever. His children loved his imagination that created the trails we walked into Troll Trails and Giants Mountains." Don is survived by his wife, Diane (Contini) Hall; his sons, Kyle and Gavin Hall; his daughter, Makayla Hall; stepdaughters, Kaitlyn (Sean) Becker and Amy Contini and Family; his parents, James and Susan (Brost) Hall; brothers, Dale Hall, Tim (Robin) Hall and David (Rolinda) Hall; and sister, Kelley (Greg) Stone; step-grandchildren, Emma and Eric Becker; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Kehl's Palmer Mortuary, 209 S Alaska Street in Palmer, Alaska.

I remember this one time when we got Mc. Donald's
Our dad would throw out some fries for the birds to eat. My mother was upset. It was funny!

Being a Daughter of him was amazing.
I do miss him!
But I'll see him so.
I have many things to tell him!

Uncle Donny, you always had an explanation for everything, or at least an amazing believable answer! I believe life was hard, but you had a beautiful family around you all the time. I am pretty sure you're one of my only uncles that my fianc actually sat down and talked to, which means a lot to me. You always made everyone feel welcome. You had a smile to make anyone else's frown turn upside down... They say that the saddest of people always try and make everyone around them feel happy. I believe this to be true for you. I always remember you saying when I was small, "Even God works on Sunday's!" when Kaitlyn and I were being lazy. I remember your wedding day. Oh, how I was so happy that you were getting married! And to someone who had GIRLS! I was going to have awesome girl cousins that I grew very close with! Diane looked so beautiful walking down the isle to "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain. Best. Song. Ever. I always think of you and auntie when I hear that song.

I could go on for hours... As I sit here ignoring everyone at work, just thinking of the loss my family has just had happen. I think of my wonderful grandparents, Sue and James. How I just want to hold them so close and cry with them. The youngest of the bunch has left to a better place. A place with no hurt. My family will always have a place for you, my uncle Donny. I love you. Forever.
