JONES, Donna Marjorie Marie
January 1, 1939 – February 9, 2016
Donna Marie Jones of Calgary passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at home on February 9, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Donna was predeceased by her parents William N. Jones and Marie Jones. She is survived by her cousins, Dianne Gerald of British Columbia and Arlene Bagshaw of California. Donna lived within the L'Arche community in Calgary for the past 30 years. Over that time she developed some very close relationships with community members who will miss her deeply. Donna kept her family in her heart throughout the years and told stories about her life with family until the end. Donna loved the simple things in life. She had vivid dreams about steam trains and spoke about living on the farm with "Uncle Bill". Donna loved children and although she never had any of her own, she nurtured her stuffies as though they were her children. Donna was very faithful and loved to pray. She memorized several poems and songs that she would recite and sing at community gatherings. Most of all, Donna loved conversations with others and was known for her sage but amusing sayings. She encouraged others to take it easy, telling them, "Don't worry! You'll get gray hair." Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Anthony's Catholic Church (5340 4 St S.W.) on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church (5340 4 St S.W.) on Wednesday February 17, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev.
