Glenn Scheafnocker Obituary

Glenn Scott Scheafnocker
September 25, 1948 – December 1, 2019

Heaven has a new very tall (6'8"), mustached angel. My dear husband, Glenn Scheafnocker, fought a 7-year courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease and Dementia, and in the end, the horrible diseases won.

We enjoyed 38 wonderful years together. Glenn was the kindest, sweetest man and I was attracted to him because he was always a perfect gentleman. At the ALF, he told his brother that I was the "center of his universe" and I felt the same way about him.

Born in Evansville, Indiana, Glenn graduated from University of Illinois and was a licensed architect in Indiana and Florida. He moved to Tampa in 1981. As an architectural consultant, he worked on large iconic projects including the $85 million Lake Buena Vista Palace Hotel, and $50 million Harbor Island. In 1983, he was Project Manager on the Delta Airlines Maintenance Hangar which developed his love for airport projects. He was very proud of his numerous projects that followed at Tampa International Airport where he was later employed as Deputy Director of Architecture until he retired in 2012.

Glenn enjoyed traveling; fast cars (NASCAR and street rods); his dogs, Opie and Lambchop; the beach; Budweiser and Yuengling beers; and was known for his love of LEGOS. If I'm being honest, he was a little anal (ok, a lot anal) and I joked with him about that many times. I told him that if he looked up the word "anal" in the dictionary, his photo would be next to it. He would just laugh! His attention to detail could make you love him or drive you crazy!

He was a loving and devoted husband, a caring son and brother, a fun uncle, a loving Godfather, and a great friend. He is predeceased by his parents, Grant and Doris Scheafnocker. Glenn is survived by his beautiful wife, Carol (I'm writing this so I can embellish), brother Craig (Connie), sister Linda (Brian), brother-in-law Bill Elliott (Donna); nieces and nephews Suzanne (Jeremy), Meghan (Cole), Grant, Mason, and Maddox; and a very much loved God-daughter, Alexis "Alex" DelliVeneri.

A celebration of life (or final retirement party) will be held at The Bridges Clubhouse at 11202 Dewhurst Drive, Riverview, FL on January 19, 2020 at 3:30.

R.I.P. "Big Guy" – I will love you forever. Until we meet again...
