Maquon - Gregory Donald Schoenbein, 56, of rural Maquon died Thursday morning, June 19, 2014, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1957, in Peoria, the son of Donald C. and Evelyn A. (Doubet) Schoenbein.
Greg is survived by his parents, Don and Evelyn Schoenbein of rural Maquon; one sister, Cynde S. (and Brian) Onion of rural Abingdon; two nephews, Brad (and Angela) Onion of rural Sparland and Jeff (and Courtney) Onion of rural Abingdon; six great-nieces and -nephews, Addyson, Brylee, Fletcher, Tucker, Alex and Jay; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1975. He later attended Carl Sandburg Jr. College.
He was a farmer all his life.
He was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church, the Abingdon Kiwanis Club, the Knox County Farm Bureau and the Knox County Soil & Conservation District.
Greg was an avid reader.
Cremation was accorded. Private services will be held. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Abingdon Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Abingdon United Methodist Church, 401 N. Washington St., Abingdon, IL 61410.

I knew Greg sence the 70s. He Was a good True Friend.I had lots of good times with Greg . He will be missed . Sorry for your lost.
