Harold Loyde Gray, 86 years old of Niles, passed to his rest October 28, 2022 after an illness. He was born Sept. 4, 1936 in Roe, Arkansas, the son of Walter Franklin and Pearl L. (Lindsey) Gray and came to this area in about 1959. Before moving to Michigan, he enlisted in the United States Marines in 1953, serving in Panama and Japan. He was released in 1957 with the rank of Sgt.

Harold met and fell in love with Gloria A. Morris and married in 1958 and they had four children; Troy (Shirley) Gray of Summerville, SC, Pamela (Edward) Keim of Edwardsburg, Cindy Payne of Vandalia and Thomas (Theresa) Gray of Hudson, FL. On Sept. 14, 2000 Gloria passed and much sadness existed. In 2004 he married Barbara Davisson, and she passed in 2020. Harold also has 11 grandchildren.

Family who preceded him in passing are his parents, a son-in-law Gary Payne and two brothers, Larry Gray in 1994 and Gordon Gray in 2010.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, Nov. 3rd from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main Street, Edwardsburg. The Service of Remembrance will be on Friday, Nov. 4th at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home, where all may visit for one hour before the Service. The Service will be conducted by Harold's family and friends. Interment will follow the Service at Smith Chapel Cemetery, Milton Twp., with the United States Marine Honor Guard and the local American Legion/VFW, performing the 21 gun-salute, playing Taps and folding the American flag.

Arrangements are by the Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
