Joe Malina

Joe Malina, 86, of New Baden, Ill., born Aug. 6, 1917, in New Baden, Ill., died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital, Breese, Ill.
Mr. Malina was a machinist for E.M. Wiegman in Freeburg, Ill., for 33 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 321, New Baden, Ill. and Mascoutah VFW Post 768. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Malina was preceded in death by his wife, Leona "Sis," nee Fielder, Malina, whom he married June 7, 1941, at St. George Church, New Baden, Ill., and who died May 9, 1983; his parents, John and Marie, nee Schlosser, Malina; two brothers, Emil Malina and Adolph Malina; and a sister, Marie Peters.
Surviving are his daughter, Sandra Glanzner of Estero, Fla.; a granddaughter, Barbara (Mark) Lockowitz of Tren-ton, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Taylor Lockowitz of Trenton, Ill.; and two sisters, Fronie Valerius of Belleville, Ill., and Helen (Orville) Hemann of New Baden, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Hempen Funeral Home, New Baden, Ill.
