MARIE A. GAEBEL Valparaiso, IN Formerly Morristown, NJ Marie A. Gaebel, 86 of Valparaiso since 1989, coming from Morristown, NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Pines Village Retirement Community, Valparaiso. She was born on June 22, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA to William A. and Genevieve (Haines) Kelly. Marie is survived by her 4 children, Judith (Jonathan) Churchill of New York, NY, Joan Noble of Elk Grove Village, IL, Barbara (Dennis) Morgan of Valparaiso, and Roger (Katie) Gaebel of San Antonio, TX; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger I. Gaebel in 1998; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers. Mrs. Gaebel was a homemaker, a teaching assistant for emotionally handicapped children, President of the Residents' Council at Pines Village Retirement Community, a life long reader an learner, an intrepid traveler, an accomplished writer and an advocate for human rights all of her life. She was both mother and friend to her children and friend to her much loved sons-in-law and daughter-in-law. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She treasured her friendships with residents and staff at "The Pines," her home for over eighteen years. She loved St. Andrews where she will join her dear husband, Roger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 15th at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 505 Bullseye Lake Rd., Valparaiso. Following the mass, all are invited to Pines Village, 3303 Pines Village Circle, Valparaiso for fellowship and light refreshments. Memorial contributions may be made to The Pines Village Samaritan Fund 3303 Pines Village Circle Valparaiso 46383 and/or VNA Hospice 501 Marquette St. Valparaiso 46383. moellerfuneralhome.com
