On Thursday evening, January 31st, 2013 Pascal Padra passed away at the age of 90. He will be sorely missed. In a way, Pascal symbolized the ideal of so many who immigrate to this country. In 1956, with nothing but a suitcase and two hundred dollars in his pocket, Pascal moved to Montreal and managed to make a better future for himself, his wife Jeanne and his family here and abroad through unrelenting determination and hard work. Although Pascal did not hold any school diploma apart from elementary, the will and dedication he manifested in doing things right and to the utmost of his capabilities propelled him several times to the top of various organizations. For many years, Pascal occupied the position of General Sales Director for all of Canada with Sabena, the now defunct Belgian airline company. His ambition to strive to be the best never clouded or obscured his conviction that one should never engage in anything which cause someone else a prejudice. Pascal was a just man who always advocated good will, conciliation and harmony. His wife Jeanne, daughter Catherine, sons Christian and Michel extend their deepest sympathies, gratitude and respect to all who knew Pascal and are bound to be saddened by his death. According to his wishes, no formal ceremony will be held. Members of the family will gather at Urgel Bougie located at 816 Ste-Croix in St- Laurent on Friday, February 15th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to pay their final respect and to greet anyone who wishes to do likewise.
