Patrick Delaney Obituary
Paddy will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Dolores, and his children, Linda, Kevin, and Sinéad; his sons and daughter-in-law, Andrew, Vicky, and Jonathon; his grandchildren, Maeve, Ailish (Dave), Fíona, Ciara (Jordan), Aidan, Brendan, Kylie, Caelyn, and Becket; his great-grandchildren, Nash, Quinn, Brynn, and Shea; his sisters, Marie and Bridie; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in the U.S. and abroad. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Kay and Joan, and his brothers, William and John.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Saint Joseph Carmelite Monastery in San Jose. Please wear green in his honor. For those who wish to participate remotely, please contact the family for details.

My dad, Paddy Delaney, was the eldest son in a tight knit Irish family. He spent his first twelve years in Birr before moving with his family to Limerick. A gifted athlete, Paddy excelled on hurling pitch, leading numerous teams to great success. After marrying Dolores Rowley, he immigrated to the Bay Area, where he was an active member of the U.I.C.C. in San Francisco and the I.S.C. of Santa Clara County. For many years, his voice could be heard every Sunday afternoon on the AM dial on the broadcast, "Sounds of Erin," where he shared the songs and stories of the Emerald Isle. Paddy spent more forty years working in purchasing in Silicon Valley, with his happiest years spent at Amdahl Corporation surrounded by a talented team of co-workers.
A patient mentor and a gentleman through and through, he will always be remembered for his easy smile, his shoulder-shaking laugh, his beautiful singing voice, and his renditions of "Forty Shades of Green" and "By the Bright Silvery Light of the Moon."
