Funeral service for Pauline Jean Meyer Shepard, 82, East Turgot Avenue, Edgewater, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at her residence will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 4, at Settle-Wilder Chapel with the Rev. Charles Warner, Coronado Community United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery, Edgewater. Visitation will be today (Friday), from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Jean moved from Pittsburgh, Pa., to New Smyrna Beach area in 1948, where she thoroughly enjoyed her friends and community. Jean was involved in many charities and organizations such as, The New Smyrna Oceanside Women's Club, and she was also a member of the National Society of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. Jean is survived by her nephews, Alfred Holmberg (Annelle), Novelty, Ohio, Alfred Meyer, Robert Meyer (Beth) and Richard Meyer, all of Rosslyn Farms, Pa., and John T. Meyer (Susan), Columbus, Ohio; stepson, Stephen Shepard (Carolyn), Attelboro, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Linda Shepard, Burlington, Ontario; as well as two great-nephews, Jeremy Holmberg, Burton, Ohio, and John Meyer, Des Moines, Iowa; and five great-nieces, Jodi Holmberg, Novelty, Ohio, Lily and Erin Holmberg, Bowling Green, Ohio, Amy Gabbard, Pennsbury Village, Pa., and Keri Meyer, of Rosslyn Farms, Pa.; one great- great-niece, Carson Gabbard, Penns-buryVillage, Pa. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ray A. Shepard. Donations may be made in Mrs. Shepard's memory to the Florida Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 6870, Tallahassee, FL 32314, or to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
