Richard Walden Obituary
Richard Mason Walden, age 81 of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Earl and Ruby Brannon Walden. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Marion Underhill and a brother, Samuel Walden.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Steve Puckett and Reverend F. Murray Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with nephews serving as Pallbearers.
Mr. Walden is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Ogles Walden; sons, Rick Walden and his wife Demetra of Murfreesboro, Jeff Walden and his wife Jenny of Christiana; six grandchildren, Lindsay Fisher and her husband Matt, Vance Walden, Nathan Walden, Hannah Walden, Maddie Miller, Leah Miller and one great-grandchild, Cali Ann Fisher. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Walden and his wife Dot of Murfreesboro, Elbert Walden and his wife Gail of Smyrna; sister-in-law, Frances Walden and brother-in-law, Bill Underhill, both of Murfreesboro.
Mr. Walden was a member of Bellwood Baptist Church. He retired from Alvin C. York Medical Center and was a Veteran of the Untied States Marines.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Online condolences may be made to www.woodfinchapel.com.

Nancy, Children, and Brothers:
I am sorry to hear about Richard's passing. I always thought a lot of him and attended school one and half years at Central,before I transferred to Christiana. He always had a smile on his face and was very friendly. May God comfort all of you and peace be with you in the days to follow.
