DAVENPORT-Ricky Dean Powell, 67, of Davenport, passed away on, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his home. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 12:00pm on Friday, February 10, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial with full military honors will be at National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. It is Rick's wish, for those who attend his celebration of his life, please dress casual and "pop a top" in his memory.

Ricky Dean Powell was born November 23, 1955, in Davenport, the son of William Henry Powell and Janan Sheila (Barney) Powell. Rick graduated from Davenport West High School in 1974. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from June 1974 to June 1978.

Rick married Terri L Murphy on August 23, 1980. They divorced in 1993. He later married Angela Wolf on April 2, 1994.

Rick held various jobs as a Machine operator, abatement supervisor, and delivering various RV's throughout the Midwest. He was a member of the America Legion Post 26 in Davenport. Rick enjoyed NASCAR and football. He also enjoyed playing guitar with The Del Fox Band.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Angie; daughters, Brandi Powell, Davenport, and Corie (BJ) Bauman, DeWitt, IA; sons, Tony (Lourie Fox) Powell, DeWitt, IA, and Matthew (Noemi Cardona) Powell, Davenport, IA; grandchildren: Saxon and Taylor Powell, Benjamin and Ashleigh Burson, Maliyah, Madilyn, Lorey and Nolein Powell, Owein Post, Ceandra, Ava and Mason Staub, Skyler and Mateo Powell, and Mia Crutchfield; great-grandchildren, Jaxon O'Brien and Viviana Consuelo Rosas; brothers, Mark (Roxanne) Powell, Long Grove, IA, and Terry (Vicky) Powell, Davenport; sister, Julie Frields, Ankeny, IA; aunts, Carol (Roger) Awes, Marshalltown, IA and Marlene (Jerry) Peterson, Moline, IL; cousins: Jody (Clive) West, Minnesota, Tami (Chris) Smith, Marshalltown, IA, Terri (Tim) Ewaldt, Ankeny, IA, Tom (Lori) Awes, Minnesota, Mike Awes, Marshalltown, IA, Suzie (Steve) Etheridge, Moline, IL, Karen (George) Milkas, LeClaire, IA, and Mike (Fran) Thibodeaux, Davenport, IA; "band brothers", Dave and Danny Fox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
