(Clarendon) - Robert E. Woodworth, “Rotten Robert”, age 77, died January 22, 2009, in Lakeside Hospital, following a long illness. He was born December 12, 1931, in Rochester, and was a lifetime resident of this area.Mr. Woodworth was the last Active Charter Member of the Clarendon Fire Company, a co-founder of the Clarendon Ambulance Company, was a former Zoning Board Member and Bingo Inspector for the Town of Clarendon. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Elwyn and Elizabeth Woodworth. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marion; his son, Stephen “Woody” (Linda) Woodworth of Brockport, daughter, Merrie (Robert) Woodworth-Brice of Brockport; sisters, Roberta (Reid Gates) McDermott of Rochester, Nancy (William) Bartlett of Brockport, Sharon Burns of Colorado; his adopted family, Janet and Bob Koehler of Clarendon; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. There are no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Bob’s Memorial Service SUNDAY at 1 PM at the Clarendon Rec Hall. Interment at the convenience of the family. My dear Marion and Family, I truly loved Rotten, as did my husband Walt. I know how you must be hurting,please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I'm sorry I can't make it back for the services but I will check in on you the next time I am able to get back to WNY. My sincere condolences and all my love and prayers.

We extend sincere sympathy to Marion, Steve, Merry and their families. Bob was a one-of-a-kind person. I enjoyed Bob's friendship and the years we both served as members of Clarendon Fire Department. He will be missed.
