Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 22, 2003.
LeBAS, Ronald George On September 19, 2003 Mr. Ronald George LeBas of Edmonton passed away peacefully. Ronald was born on October 10, 1919 in Calgary, Alberta. At the outbreak of World War II, Ronny enlisted in the Canadian Army and was posted to the Loyal Edmonton Regiment. He saw action from Sicily and north into Belgium. Following the war he was employed by the Edmonton Transit System and later transferred to Edmonton Telephones where he remained until his retirement. At the time of his death he had 35 years of consecutive service as an ordinary member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Strathcona Branch 150. Ronny loved the outdoors and was an ardent fisherman. On June 8, 1946 Ronald married Catherine Gogan and they continued to make their home in Edmonton. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Louise Anne, his parents Minnie and Percy LeBas, and in February of this year by his wife Catherine. Ronald is lovingly remembered by his niece Mona and her husband Jim Pushor of Lumby, B.C. as well as numerous friends. Ronald's wish was that no service be held. Cremation has taken place with his final resting place to be at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Sherwood Park. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
